"DAWN AT OAKLAWN” TO BE OFFERED EACH MORNING DURING THE RACING FESTIVAL OF THE SOUTH

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (Wednesday, April 04, 2012) – The overwhelming success of the Saturday morning program “Dawn at Oaklawn” has motivated Oaklawn to extend the seminar to every day during the Racing Festival of the South, Wed., April 11 through Sat., April 14. Racing fans are invited to come out each morning from 8 – 9:30 a.m. to see the Festival horses in their morning training, catch a glimpse at the potential Arkansas Derby winner and hear from the sport’s most prominent horsemen.

“Dawn at Oaklawn,” hosted by Oaklawn’s former track announcer and current ambassador Terry Wallace, debuted in mid-February and has featured guests from all aspects of racing, including trainers, jockeys, racing officials and a veterinarian. In addition, fans have been able to enjoy free coffee and pastries while they watch the Thoroughbreds in their morning training.

“Dawn at Oaklawn” will be held on the south apron or in case of bad weather, in the grandstand each morning. The free coffee and pastries will continue and each morning will feature a different guest directly involved in the Racing Festival of the South.

The popular program will also be held this Saturday from 8 – 10 a.m. and the guest will be three-time Kentucky Derby winning-rider and top Oaklawn jockey Calvin Borel. Borel is the regular rider of Arkansas Derby prospect Najjaar.
