Improvements to Highway 88 will require lane closures in Hot Springs

LITTLE ROCK (AHTD) – Improvements to Highway 88 (Higdon Ferry Road) will require lane closures in Hot Springs, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Crews will be smoothing the driving surface between Emory Street and Central Avenue. The work will reduce traffic on Higdon Ferry Road to one lane in each direction.

The lane closures will be Monday, May 12th and Tuesday, May 13th, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., weather permitting. This work was scheduled to take place on May 6th & 7th, but had to be delayed due to equipment issues. Traffic will be controlled using flaggers, cones, and warning signs.

Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ArkansasHighways.com. You can also follow us on Twitter @AHTD.
