(October 19, 2011) Little Rock, AR – Little Rock Fashion Week (LRFW) is proud to announce its support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month with its official registration for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, which takes in place Little Rock on Saturday, October 22.

“Breast cancer is a serious disease that affects all of us. This cancer has robbed the life of friends and family members of those affiliated with the Little Rock Fashion Week and I want to lend my support,” says Brandon D. Campbell, the founder and executive director of LRFW. “Breast cancer should be taken personally by everyone. I ask that we do not wait for this dreadful disorder to claim the life of someone close to us to help with finding solutions. I'm challenging as many people as possible to donate to charities that assist in breast cancer research and prevention and for men and women to get mammograms.”

Teen Challenge and Senior Olympics a winning combination

Teen Challenge and Senior Olympics a winning combination

Teen Challenge of Arkansas assists with the Hot Springs Senior Olympics and Big Dam Bridge 100 in Little Rock.

Assisting with these and other events is part of what Teen Challenge does. It is what we believe is an integral part of this ministry - getting out into the community and lending a hand where and when needed. It surrounds our students with individuals and groups who are living a clean and healthy lifestyle, or who are living with a disadvantage, but who push themselves to rise above it and live a fulfilling life with what they have been given. In addition to our chapels, church and group studies, we can't think of a more effective way to minister healing and growth to our students, whose lives and futures are precious to us.

Teen Challenge was on hand Wednesday through Sunday to assist with the Hot Springs Senior Olympics, and we had a blast! Athletes competed in everything from track and field and basketball, to badminton and ping-pong.
