There is a very, very simple answer!  The pharmaceutical companies that make heartworm preventatives will guarantee their products when you purchase from your veterinarian, but will not guarantee products purchased through Internet pharmacies.  We know that nothing in life is 100%, and the same is true of heartworm preventatives.  Regular and consistent use of heartworm prevention remains our best tactic in the battle against heartworm disease, but it is possible, though rare, for a pet who is on heartworm prevention to contract the disease.

Bargains Galore on 64 is an annual event that will be taking place on August 11-13, Thursday through Saturday.  This is a 160 mile yard sale where you can find antiques, collectables and all around great buys.  Listed by Southern Traveler magazine as a designated "Travel Treasure," this event will attract vacationers, locals, buyers, sellers alike to "shop til' you drop" and enjoy the bargains as well as the beautiful vistas.

As their website states, "The River Valley of Arkansas is proud to host another of our Bargains Galore on 64 yard sale extravaganzas. This annual event is held on Thursday through Saturday, the second weekend in August and offers a great opportunity for commercial vendors, non-profit groups, clubs, schools, churches, civic organizations, etc., to promote their products or service.

Larry's Pizza looks to Hot Springs, Little Rock; Jimmy John's set for capital city

One location restaurant chain prepares to expand in Little Rock, while a national name is setting its sights on well-trafficked corner of the capital city, according to this week's Arkansas Business newspaper.

First, Larry's Pizza, the buffet-style pizza slinger that opened its first location in southwest Little Rock in 1992, is adding a second west Little Rock location, this one at 801 S. Bowman Road. The space once housed Dragon Palace Buffet at the Bowman Station project. The new Larry's will be about 7,500 square feet.

But the chain isn't stopping there.

Fireworks Display Set for 9:35 p.m.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Spa Blast, one of the annual summer highlights in Hot Springs, returns to Oaklawn Park Friday, July 1, just in time to kick-off the Fourth of July Holiday Weekend. The event will begin at 5 p.m. and culminates with a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Spa Blast, which will take place in Oaklawn’s infield, will feature live music, a Family Fun Park area with kid rides, rock climbing wall, Mid-America Science Museum Mobile unit, Mini Air Show, stunt plane flyover and skydiving exhibition. Concession stands will be open with family-friendly pricing. Blankets and folding chairs are welcome, but no coolers will be allowed.

“Spa Blast is an event every one in Hot Springs looks forward to,” said Matt Clement, Director of Entertainment.
