Lawyer fined for missing court on day McDaniel admitted relationship

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - A judge has found a Hot Springs lawyer in contempt for missing a hearing the day Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel publicly admitted having an extramarital relationship with her.

Lawyer Jeff Rosenzweig says a judge found Andrea Davis in contempt Tuesday. Davis was also fined $100.

Rosenzweig says Davis was upset and didn't think she would be able to proceed with a hearing the day McDaniel publicly admitted having an "inappropriate" relationship with her.

McDaniel was the only announced Democratic candidate for the 2014 governor's race in December when he publicly acknowledged his relationship with Davis. He has since dropped out of the race.

Former Lt. Gov. Bill Halter is seeking the Democratic nomination. Former U.S. Rep. Asa Hutchinson and Little Rock businessman Curtis Coleman are seeking the Republican nomination.
