Arkansan produces film to raise awareness on suicide

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - An Arkansan has found her own way to raise awareness of the effect of suicide in the state. 

Summer Moody is the founder of a new film "This Too Shall Pass." As the writer of the movie, she hopes to bring alive the seriousness of suicide and depression that plagues individuals across the U.S. Summer's goal with the film is to shed light on the truth of suicide and the effect it has on those left behind as well as the healing process. 

Tom Logan, award-winning feature film director with the Director's Guild of America, has signed on to be the director of the film. 

Hot Springs to unveil historic fountain

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - A ceremony unveiling the historic National Humane Alliance Water Trough Fountain will take place at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 7 at the intersection of Malvern Avenue and Broadway Street.

The solid granite fountain dates back to the early 1900s when the National Humane Alliance placed an estimated 125 animal fountains on city streets across America.

The Alliance was founded in 1897 by Hermon Lee Ensign, a wealthy business tycoon with a great love of animals. Ensign’s goal was to educate people to be considerate of animals and of each other.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) – A recent job has likely left a few pest-control workers red-faced as their removal attempts resulted in a school lockdown.

BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) - The Benton Police Department needs help finding two people that are suspected of stealing from a local jewelry store.

Police are searching for two black females they believe are responsible for stealing jewelry from a Young's Jewelers in Benton. 

Employees told officers that it happened around 4:41 on March 22. They said the women were first looking at a pair of earrings but then had questions about a diamond ring. The two reportedly asked a clerk if the store had a layaway plan, and as the employee was asking another store associate, the suspects left the store. 

One of the women had a tattoo with the word "Sweet C" on her right arm. 

They drove out of the parking lot in a silver car.
