News

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Department of Health says a skunk killed recently in Garland County has been confirmed as rabid.

The health department says the skunk was killed by a homeowner west of Hot Springs after it was noticed wandering around a pond and appearing disoriented. The skunk was then submitted to Hot Springs Animal Services and sent for testing, which proved positive for rabies.

The health department says there appears to be no human or animal exposures to the rabid skunk.
