Improvements to Highway 70 will require lane closures

LITTLE ROCK (6-13) – Improvements to Highway 70 require lane closures in Garland, Hot Spring, and Montgomery counties, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Crews will be clearing debris from along the shoulders to prevent the accumulation of water on the roadway. The work will reduce traffic to 1 lane within the moving work zone.

Weather permitting, the work will extend west from Hempwallace in Garland County to the Montgomery/Pike County line on the dates listed below.  Traffic will be controlled using flaggers, cones, and warning signs.   

  • June 16 - June 20: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Garland Co. from Hempwallace to Hot Spring Co. Line.
  • June 23 - June 24: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Hot Sopring Co. from Garland Co. Line to Montgomery Co. Line
  • June 25 - Junes 26: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Montgomery Co. from Hot Spring Co. Line to Pike Co. Line
