Coming to Riverfest? Go over Sunny's Safety Plan

Coming to Riverfest? Go over Sunny's Safety Plan

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Riverfest coordinators, along with ¡Hola! Arkansas and Today's THV, want to help provide a plan for kids and their families who become separated.

The scariest thing for children is to become separated from their family during a huge, crowded event. And the worst feeling is not knowing where to go to be reunited with loved ones.

There will be four Information Tents strategically placed throughout the park. Families will be encouraged to visit these booths and discuss "Sunny's Safety Plan" before enjoying the day's activities. They will be introduced to the booth volunteers and "Sunny." "Sunny" will be posted on a big sign at each booth and the volunteers will give children a "Look For Sunny" sticker to wear.

This will help the children remember what they're looking for. If a child becomes lost, they will look for the "Sunny" symbol and know that it is a safe place to go.

The Hero on Horseback...Let Lauren Ride

The Hero on Horseback...Let Lauren Ride

A Hero on Horseback trotted through Central Arkansas this weekend.

I caught up with him in Malvern on a rainy Saturday and you can see his heartwarming story here.

But I couldn't let the opportunity pass me by--I asked if I could ride. Sophie didn't care too much that I was in the saddle...made me think about when a kid doesn't mind the babysitter because it's not his/her parent.

And yes, if you listen closely you can hear me flirt with Cowboy Chris.

Happy Trails!
