Cooperative police work between area wide counties, enabled Garland County Authorities to have in custody this morning the two suspects involved in last nights shooting as reported earlier by hotspringsdaily.com.
Dustin Brown, age 25 of Hot Springs National Park, and Stephen Tye Curtiss, age 26 of Prattsville, are being held in the Garland County Detention Center and are charged with Murder and Battery.
According to the G.C.S.O. report, deputies were called to the scene of a shooting at 103 Barite Road at approximately 6:30 last night.
They were told by the witness that the suspects had followed her and the victim, David Halpin, home to 103 Barite Road. Brinsfield told deputies that the suspects were “possibly” in a black Mitsubishi Gallant, and that after pulling into the driveway, the pair of suspects confronted Halprin and her about some money, and a fight ensued. The witness stated that Brown shot Halprin in the head, and that someone hit her over the head with an unknown object. She was later transported to an area hospital for treatment for the laceration.
Grant County authorities, after being alerted to the possibility of the suspects having fled Garland County following the fatal shooting, alerted Garland County authorities around midnight this morning that they had located the suspect vehicle and were preparing warrants for execution of an arrest.
